Your Hopes and Dreams!

Where do you really want to be in five years? Practically speaking, where will you be living, will you have a wife/ husband? Will he or she have a paycheck too? Will you have just started a career or have been working on a promotion at this point? Will you have children? Will you have the same car or one at all? What will you be spending most of your money on? Traveling or any children? Going for another degree in college?

(RESPONDERS- May want to question these responses by others and their credibility? Or relate to them...)

  1. In 5 years, I'm not sure where I will be living. I know I plan to live at home for college because it will be cheaper, but I'm not sure how long I will be going to college for. I don't know what I want to be when I'm older yet. I'm still figuring that out. I'm hoping to have started a career by then. I don't plan on being married in 5 years, since I'm only 16 now. I have the rest of my life to figure out whether or not I want to be married.

I don't want to have children when I'm 21. I don't think I want children at all. At least not of my own. I want to adopt. I plan on having a car, I'm not exactly sure what kind of car. I don't have a car now, I don't even have my permit yet. I probably won't have the same car when I'm 21 as I do within the next year when I do get a car.

I'll be spending most of my money on college and saving up money for a house of my own. When I go to college, I plan on living at home because it's so much cheaper.

I do want to travel, I'm not sure where though. I just don't want to stick around in Pennsylvania.

As for another degree in college, possibly. As I said before, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I'm older. So I'm not exactly sure yet.

  2. I would like to see myself in 5 years in my senior year at college, preferably at Berklee College of music. I would like to major in music education and a minor in music performance. I will hope to be living off campus in an apartment with a few friends. I will probably not be married by then but will hopefully be with a girlfriend. I will not have children since supporting children while still in school would be tough. I will have a part time job somewhere to make money for bills. Most of my money will be spent on what is necessary to live there and a little bit of nonsense but nothing to ridiculous. I will not have a car I will have a road bike to ride to class on. Since gas is expensive. I would like travel a lot during breaks at school but that might be difficult.

  3. In a couple of years i hope that i will be living in Italy. Also married to the women who i truly know i will spend the rest of my life with and only her in my life. Would she have to work? Well, if she limits the things that she buys for us then no she wont.

Personally, I hope I can be a translator of some sort in italy of english. Maybe, start a pizza business with secret recipe of a old friend of mine. :} Will I try for a promotion yes, if there is one.

Having children has always been of a dream of mine. I always pictured myself raising 3 or 2 kids and they being spoiled be me their father.

My car.... Well depends on what they have in Italy. Maybe a boat? Either way ill have some sort of transportation for my family.

Most of my money i would spend it on resources for the family. Also try and save up for the kids college fun. BECAUSE THEIR GOING TO GET SOME SORT OF EDUCATION!!!! But also try and save of the money for my wife and her personal Bling. That way i don't get yelled at.

Thats what i picture of my family

  4. In 5 years , I'm not sure where ill be living , I don't wanna live in PA only because I pretty much been here my whole life . I'm hoping to have NO children in 5 years , maybe a boyfriend , but I don't know about a husband.I wanna go to college during theses 5 years for nursing , just like my mother did/does.I will be driving in 5 years , hopefully with a cute car and only 2 seats because I wouldn't like driving other people around (: I will be spending and saving my money at the same time , because I wanna be able to save up for a house and be able to spend money on myself. When I go to college I plan on traveling because being with your parents to long is sometimes annoying , but right now I'm only 16 so who knows what I will be doing or where I will be in 5 years <3

  5. In five years I see myself going away for college and gaining my own independence. I truly want to pursue my dream in helping troubled teenagers become more successful in life. Therefore, i look for to being in school for around seven years working to become a therapist of some sort.
I also see myself traveling the world and seeing life for what it has to offer and grasp every opportunity along the way. so far I've traveled up the east coast. But I want to enhance my knowledge going across the country and even out of the country.
After that i will be ready to settle down having a steady career and raising a family in family environment.

  6. In 5 years I will be finishing college. Right now I am currently looking for a job whether its a cashier at CVS or a cashier at the supermarket. The bottom line is I need a job. I'm exspecting a new car when I am 21. I currently don't have my permit or a car. I will most likely receive my dad's 94 camery, which isn't the best car but it gets you from point A to point B.

I really don't even want to think about marriage until I'm 30 because I want to take things slow and i think to get married in your 20's is just too fast.

As in regards to kids, I think that they deserve a better life than me. My life was great but If I really want a kid I want to make sure that they have the best life possible. Which is another reason for marriage in the 30's just cause you can get financially built by the time you have a kid.

I want to move out of Pennsylvania but I want to visit a lot, just so I can see my family and friends. I want to live in a warm place, somewhere along the lines of Florida or New Jersey. Which costs a lot of money. I want to just have fun and be a teen and then plan on growing up later. Hopefully with a new car, but hey whatever happens, happens.

  7. In 5 years, I see myself in college to become a veterinarian. I plan to go to a community college so I can still stick around home with my family and friends, but also save money. I have been interested in becoming a veterinarian ever since the 2nd grade and I would love to conquer my dream.

I am still deciding on whether i want to be married and have a family.

I would love to have a mustang or a charger within the next 5 years. I would probably be spending my money on college or other important things in life.

I would love to go to Aruba, because it looks beautiful there.

Like i said, I would love to become a veterinarian or another degree in working with animals.

  10. Hopefully in the next 5 years I would be living in a dorm in the art institute college learning how to develop, test, and debug video games. Once I am out of college I would like to work for an online gaming company.

I am not looking forward to having a wife and kids, but if I do see an opportunity for it, I certainly will take that chance. I am looking forward to both me and my wife to be working in a job. Children? Thats a very big thought for me. If we decide that it would be nice to have children, then a son and a daughter would be nice.

I do have a part time job now, saving up for a car and a house. If its just me, I would have a car for myself. It would be a toyota. If I am going to have a family, I would have to choose the best one possible. Probably an earth friendly car.

I am not much of a traveler, but if I feel I need to go out and explore, then I will. Some of my money will all be saved up for emergency situations. The rest would go into bills. Any extra money would go into the "Fun Jar".

If I see that getting another degree in college would help, I would go for it. My dream for myself is to get a masters degree in technology.

This is what I see for myself in 5 years.

  11. In 5 years I see my self in the military. I will hopefully be in the air force. I don’t think I will have a wife because I will be busy but I hope I will have a girlfriend. I don’t think I will have kids yet because I will be so busy. Almost all of the money I get will go to the bank, so when I am finished with the air force I can get an apartment and have money to buy the necessities. While in the air force I hope that I can travel and see the world, especially parts of Europe, and that I am not stuck in one place for the whole time. After the military I hope to go to college I don’t know what I would get my degree in yet.

  12. I agree with K.Martin about being able to travel and experience new things. Nobody should stay in their town and not experience what's really out there in the real world. Honestly, I think everyone should have the chance to go somewhere far away just to see what it's like.

I also agree about solo being the way to go. I couldn't agree more with that one.

  15. In five years I hope to see myself living in a temporary apartment with a side job as an auto mechanic to make some money while I go to a community college or a tech school. After that I would like to either, open up a private garage or become manager for a well known popular shop.
I would like to have a wife with a steady income of about 30,000$/ year so we cold have a decent house. I would also like to have only 1 child, because it’s less expansive to raise 1 kid as opposed to 2.
I hope my life goes as planned or pretty damn close, but if it doesn’t I would like to become the homeless guy with the golden voice.

  21. In 5 years I would like to be in the Army. I want to be able to travel and experience new things. Although my mom doesn't want me to go I might still do it. I'll save all the money I get from the army to further my education. I'd like to attend beauty school or any some type of technical school. Hopefully I'll have a car before the time I'm 21 to get to place to place. Most likely I'll move out of PA and probably get an apartment with some of my close friends, and we would divide up the costs so it's less expensive that way. I might have a boyfriend but I can promise I wont be married. I definitely shouldn't have any kids just yet that's for a little later (: hopefully I'll have a nephew or niece before 21 though! This is were I'd like to see myself in 5 years! :^].

  25. In 5 years i see myself married to the guy that i see me spending the rest of my life with. I will have a family of my own. i will be working at the finest restaraunt. I'm still thinking about going to college, but if i have to then i will because i want to be educated.

I believe that i will have the same car because it's the one my brother is going to give me.

i will save as much money for my kids to go to college because i want them to gain a lot of knowledge and i want them to further their education to get the best jobs they can.

i would be spending most of my money on necessary things for my family and the bills, but i expect my husband to have a job also.

  29. In five years ill be living in California :] I really want to be in collage studying law so I can be a lawyer. I know I am going to be in collage for over 6 years because become a lawyer takes a lot of hard work. I will not be married because in five years ill be 21 and for me that’s too young to get married. Ill be living with a boyfriend he has to be in collage or working that’s a must. I will hopefully be having 0 children at that time because kids are very annoying. I am going to buy myself Cadillac Escalade. I want that fancy car and don’t even have a car now : ( not even my permit . in 5 years I will be spending most of my money on my car my clothes and saving a ton .

But Untill 5 Years Imma Be Doing My Best To Really Have All Of This :]

  33. @R.DeJesus I love your goal to where you plan on being in 5 years. You really have your life figured out. You know exactly what you want to do, and I don't even know what I want to go to college for. I admire you for that.

  34. In five years from now, I plan on having an apartment on campus with a couple of friends. I do not want to live at home when I go to college but if worst comes to worst I might have to. By then I most likely will not have a husband being that I will only be twenty one years old, but probably a boyfriend. Hopefully he will have a job and not always rely on me for material things!!! Independence is key.

At that point I will still be attending college because I plan on being an obstetrician. Yes I do plan on having children but preferably when I can support my family mentally and physically. I will have a vehicle by then to make my errands convenient but I do not have a car now. I do not even have a permit.

I will be spending my money on bills and everything that is necessary for college. I would like to travel all over the world and once I am a doctor that will be possible. I do not want to travel until I have a family, because I want them to experience as much as possible. I want to have my first child by the age of 25, I do not want to spoil my party time and neither do I want to have kids too old. By the time I am twenty-five I will be ready to settle down.

    ReplyDelete
  35. In 5 years I have no idea where id be but I do plan to go to culinary school after high school to become a chef. I will would like to have a house, but I don't know whats going to happen by then. I probably will have children, but not anytime in 5 years I would be so young. I don't have a car right now, so by then I most likely will. The money that I would be making, I would spend it on traveling because I been wanting to go to many places. I also would probably spend it on more school to get a better career.

    ReplyDelete
  36. In 5 years, I will still probably be planning for my whole life to be complete. In 5 years, I will be 21 years old. Now, 21 is not even close to old.

I would definitely be in college. I would be in college learning to be a veterinarian. I have always dreamed to be that for my like 5 or 6 years. But if thats what I feel will make me happy, of course I will go for it. I love animals & I will like to help them and make good money for it. Unfournately, I will probably be in college for like 4 or 5 years because im studying for a doctors degree. Thats HUGE. But im ready for it :)

Ok, family wise, I have no clue about being married, but I know for a fact I will not have any kids. That would make my college years so hard. So not going there. I would probably go to a community college so I could stay living at home & not pay extra money for a dorm.

I would definitely have a car. Probably a different one in 5 years. Because look at everything today. The worlds technology is changing everyday. So hands down, I will have a different car in 5 years.

So, I said I will be going to a community college, so I am staying in Pennsylvania. I don't have a problem with that. Pennsylvania is beautiful.

What would I be spending most of my money on? Definitely on college and my house rent.

I would love to marry a man who already knows what he is doing with his life. Having a well payed job, just knowing what he is doing. Thats all I care about. Hopefully I fall in love with the man with that descripition.

Well, That is my hopes & dreams <3 :D

    ReplyDelete
  37. In 5 years I see myself in the United States Marine Corps. That has been my childhood dream ever since i was 5 years old. Don't plan on getting married while I'm away because the pain from being away from a loved one will be too much too bear.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Where i really want to be in 5 years is to be studying in Columbia University to be studying law & journalism. by then i'll have a wife who supports me and my career. I plan to have 3 children because i don't want my only child to be lonely. I plan on living in New York pursuing to be a Politician & a journalist.

    ReplyDelete
  39. In 5 years I will be at a very important part in my life, I will decide whether or not following my dreams was worth it. I'm moving to California next year with my two best friends then the summer after that (2013) I want to begin a full out world tour. I want to do at least 300 shows in 3 years so until i'm 21-22 then i'll review how things are going and if I need to choose a different career, which I pray I won't. I don't think i'll be married but i'm such a big hearted spontaneous person that if I feel like i've found the one then I would want to have them forever so I would do something reckless like let's fly to wherever and get married. I won't care if my wife worked, I love when pressure is on me, I feel that's when I work best so I wouldn't mind shouldering the load for my family. I am not going to college because I would be in debt for like $100,000+ and that would take years to pay off. College is so not in my plans right now, I love what i'm doing now and it's profitable so yeah i'll just keep working hard and praying that in the end it pays off. 5 years from now i'll be 22 going on 23 and I don't know if i'll want kids by then because i'll still be a kid myself and I do not want to bring any children in this world if I can't financially support them. I want kids down the line, only 3 at most or just 1 at least because I really want a son. I want to travel the world and just explore and have fun and live life but also be responsible. 5 years from now I want to say to myself I remember when I was 17 this was all just a dream.

  41. So many of you can't wait to get out of Pa! I am impressed. Travel away, by all means, but just don't forget your plans. I like the fact that so many of you want children, but not until you have your life settled!! WOohooo. It is depressing when I hear of someone who had to put his or her lif e"on hold" because he is simply a great parent. A "Dream Deferred" that is. I am sure you know people who have had to do that.. or maybe some who refused to..?????

    ReplyDelete
  42. What happens to a dream deferred?

    Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
    Or fester like a sore--
    And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
    Or crust and sugar over--
    like a syrupy sweet?

    Maybe it just sags
    like a heavy load.

    Or does it explode?

  43. In five years from now I will be in college. I am not sure exactly where I will be living due to the different locations of the colleges I am looking at. I will most likely not be located in Pennsylvania. I am looking at colleges outside of this state but that could change in the next few months. I won’t be married in five years. I want to wait until after I am out of college and have a stable job. I know too many people who dated someone from college and then after college went back to their home states. I want to find someone who lives near where I decide to live after college. If I won’t be married by then, I will be the only one paying for the bills. At this point there will not be many because I will still be in college. I will hopefully be student teaching in five years. Neither will I have any children by this point in my life. Getting married and/or having children at the age of 22 is a bit scary. Some people can do it, however I don’t think I could. I have my future planned out until I graduate from college and I don’t see a husband or children in that plan but things do change. I will probably have the same car I have now, since it will only be seven years old in five years. I will probably be sending my money on things for college and paying for tuition, as well as gas for my car and college life. I won’t be traveling much if at all as I will be focusing on school and graduating from college.

  44. In 5 years I hope to be in my third year college and living in my own apartment.I'm still not so sure about what college I want to go to, but I do know it will be some where I can be getting the right education to become a music producer or something else in the music business.I don't think ill have kids but who knows anything can happen within the next five years. Will I have a car most likely yeah. Will it be the same car I'm getting this year? I don't know I may upgrade if I have the money $$$. In order to have an apartment a car I'm going to need a JOB "Rollback my name is jvilches and I shop Walmart." This all me just me making a very open minded prediction because I can't tell the future but if I stay focused and stay prepared then maybe my future will play out exactly how I planned it to be.

  45. In five years, i hope to see myself AT LEAST in a good solid relationship. I would love to go on missions trips to places I have yet to go teaching people about the word of God. 54. 5 years from now I will be 22 years old and hopefully graduating from college. I plan on having a job and my own apartment where I would live with maybe 1 or 2 other friends. I will have my own car and be very independent. I wouldn’t mind having a boyfriend at that time but I definitely won’t be married or have children. I plan on doing that when I’m 29 or 30. Unless I find that person who I know I love and want to spend the rest of my life with. If that’s the case then maybe I will change my mind but I want to have fun while I’m young and live my life to the fullest. I want to learn how to save my money so I can pay off college loans, whatever debt I have, or just to have it. I do plan on traveling around the world. I would like to go to places like Italy, France, and Germany. I don’t think Pennsylvania is for me, there isn’t enough excitement. I would like to move to either California or New York. By this time I might not like the career I chose and may want to go back to college to get a better degree. My plans may change a couple years from now but whatever happens happens.

  78. @ M.Dumoff, I like that you would like to go to college and study music. I think you should go for it, because I have seen you play guitar and you are pretty good. I also found it funny how you would like to have a bike instead of a car because gas is expensive, it is also true.

  79. @K.Martin I think it is really cool you want to go into the army. What were you planning on doing in the army?

  95. How many people want to pursue in a Music Career?

    ReplyDelete
  96. @M.Dumoff-After visiting other states and cities, there are so many other places in my eyes that offer more than Bethlehem can for me. I moved to Bethlehem in 2001 and after ten years here, I still really don't like it. Other people really like Bethlehem such as yourself, but personality it's not for me.

  118. In five years I see myself still in college for five more years. I plan on going to a four-year college and then transferring to a medical school for the remaining 4 years. The college I plan on going to is Moravian in Bethlehem. I’m not completely sure what medical school I want to go to. I would like to live in a city though, for the benefits of bus transportation. I don't imagine myself having some sort of family until I'm in my late twenties. I do plan on having a small steady job to help with the necessities and with college expenses. In order to support myself during the summer, I would drastically increase the hours I work for my job in the summer when college is out.

  119. To have my own place and a well paying job. Probaly to be in college by then to become a social work. Maybe have a boyfriend that is a serious relationship and probaly no kids. having a strong relationship with family and friends and become a stronger person than i already am. Because what didn't kill me made me stronger to move on in life to become some one greast and a very smart young adult.
